you taught me the courage of stars before you left
how light carries on endlessly even after death
theme song;; Saturn by Sleeping At Last
personality;;
Solomon is a great deal like his hair; bright, pretty, and terribly eye-catching. He's very flirtatious, although he rarely means it seriously, and often flirts just to break the ice in a conversation. He has no preference on genders and will flirt with anybody he finds attractive, which is pretty much everybody. Solomon is that type of guy to find something pretty in everyone, whether or not they are conventionally pretty. If they've got long eyelashes maybe, or shapely eyebrows, or freckles on their hands. He notices little endearing details about somebody and can find them attractive singularly from that. He's very funny and has a habit of telling jokes when he's uncomfortable, which sometimes turn a battle into something of a dark comedy, since he'll be swinging his blade and telling jokes in a thick, nearly indecipherable Irish accent (the more excited he gets, the thicker his accent becomes). Despite his job he actually is something of a pacifist, and will always try to talk himself out a fight before he'll join in.
He's very charming, which is a good trait in a captain, and can usually keep control of his crew without issue. Solomon is naturally trusting and doesn't suspect anybody of treason unless they're in the middle of stabbing him, and even then he's probably trying to come up for some other reason why they're doing it. Solomon has a fierce affection for the sea and gets homesick if he's away for it for too long. He walks with some swagger on land not because of arrogance but because he's used to moving with the shudder of the boat, and the stillness of dirt bothers him. He will not execute anybody unless he absolutely needs to, and even then he flinches from the actual act. Solomon is a purveyor of second chances, and often hires or brings aboard crewmen other ships have refused to take for whatever reason. Sometimes his hold is filled with gold but sometimes it's filled with people getting away from abusive or desperate situations. His crew generally pretends like they don't notice, because Solomon thinks he's being so sly with loading and feeding them during their journeys.

I’d give anything to hear you say it one more time
that the universe was made just to be seen by my eyes
occupation;;
a pirate by birth, a captain by trade Solomon was born and raised on a merchant ship and is more comfortable on the sea than he will ever be on land. Becoming a pirate came naturally to him; his elder brother was one, in an effort to raise funds for their family's homestead, and Solomon became one when his brother died. Solomon (forcefully) inherited his ship and took the seas, forgoing his family's pleas for him to stay with them on land. He was unsuited for life there, he knew, and the ocean called to him. He has been a pirate for some time now and the majority of his crew has been with him for years but he is always allowing new people to join. He nurses a very fierce reputation because he's actually rather merciful, and doesn't like killing unless it's unavoidable. Solomon is constantly smuggling folks in and out of different countries under the guise of raids. He has an immense fortune he keeps back in Ireland and spread among various niches on uninhabited islands. He also gives a great deal of money to his crew, and they are terribly loyal to him. |
trivia;;
-because Solomon's silver hair is so flashy, he darkens it with dye when he goes on land, or wears a hooded cloak -his eyebrows and beard are naturally dark/black -had an older brother named Kearney; now deceased -absolutely adores the mythology people have built up around him -known as "Stormrider" as he frequently attacks coastal cities/kingdoms during storms -has an Irish accent that gets thicker the more emotional/drunker he is -doesn't much like being on land; gets homesick for his ship -absolutely loves to gossip -recently widowed by husband Sylvan |
